POSITION -- Since 2007, president of Chemeketa Community College, a public two-year institution, with five centers in Salem, Oregon, serving over 41,000 students, in a diverse, 2,600 square-mile, four-county district. To demonstrate support for student achievement, co-facilitate a section of Chemeketa’s student success course each fall term. To address poor academic performance among area youth, worked alongside key partners to support youth resiliency by locating a Boys & Girls Club on campus. This is the only Boys & Girls Club located on a West coast college.
PREVIOUS -- Served as vice president for instruction at South Seattle Community College, vice president for instruction & student services at Lane Community College, dean for health & human services at Seattle Central Community College; and executive director – career development services at the University of Washington and associate director of career services at Seattle University.
AFFILIATIONS -- Appointed by Governor Kitzhaber to serve on the Oregon Workforce Development Board; Appointed to the Marion County Children and Families Commission. Member, ACCT Advisory Committee to the President and CEO, AACC Commission on Workforce and Economic Development, Rotary International, and Executive Leadership Council – Salem Chamber of Commerce. Serve on the Board of Trustee for the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum. Honorary chairperson for the annual giving campaign for the American Red Cross Willamette Association.
EDUCATION -- Ed.D. in educational leadership and organizational development, Seattle University; masters in student personnel in higher education with an emphasis in counseling psychology, The Ohio State University; and a bachelors in psychology, Seattle University.
