Quote from the President

“For many people in our district, Clackamas Community College is the first and only choice for education and training and the opportunities they bring. In an era when many new forces are shaping community college education, our guiding principles must be always to make the decision that is best for the student."

Interesting Facts

  • Last year, Clackamas Community College received the Family Program Community Purple Award from the National Guard Bureau, an award given to one community group or organization in the U.S. each year for support to family and service members of both the Air and Army National Guard. Services to support veterans at CCC include dedicated staff who are veterans, the Veterans Education and Training Center, college credit for military training, Veterans Small Business Development, and the Military Families Scholarship Endowment.
  • CCC is the lead agency for the Credential Acceleration & Support for Employment grant, an $18.6-million statewide federal grant that provides targeted job training and education leading to employment for unemployed and underemployed Oregonians.
  • In 2012, the college formed a new partnership with Gosiger Inc. Part of the Ohio-based CNC company, Gosiger, is using a remodeled CCC classroom to demonstrate their machine tools to clients in business and industry. The company has not previously had a presence in Oregon. At the same time, CCC advanced manufacturing students train on the company’s sophisticated CNC machinery, giving them skills they would have previously learned working in industry.
