Interesting Facts
- Garrett County provides full-tuition scholarships for all county high school graduates who attend Garrett College. The scholarship, which is also available to graduates of home school programs, may be used for both academic and professional/technical programs of study.
- Two distinct signature programs capitalize on the rich natural surroundings of Western Maryland. Associate degree programs in Adventure Sports Management and Natural Resources & Wildlife Technology leverage the regions expansive natural and recreational resources to provide students with hands-on learning experiences.
- Every kindergarten student in Garrett County will have the opportunity to participate in the college’s 'I Can Swim' program when it opens its new state of the art Community Aquatic and Recreation Complex this fall. This weeklong program, developed in collaboration with the Garrett College Foundation and county public schools, will provide age-appropriate swimming and safety instruction one kindergarten class at a time, throughout the academic year.
