Quote from the President
“Throughout its 50-year history, Grossmont College has been changing lives through education thanks to the commitment of our dedicated faculty and staff. We have created a dynamic educational climate that has enabled diverse individuals to pursue their hopes, dreams and full potential. The impact of the college within its community is demonstrated by the fact that roughly one out of every three adults living in San Diego’s East County region has taken one or more classes at Grossmont College.”
Grossmont College is the largest community college in San Diego’s East County region with approximately 20,000 students. It serves as the primary transfer feeder to the county’s largest state university.
Grossmont College offers more than 150 associate degree and certificate programs with such notable programs as administration of justice, healthcare professions (nursing, cardiovascular technology, respiratory therapy, occupational therapy assistant, orthopedic technology, EKG tech) and culinary arts.
Grossmont College serves as a hub for cultural and arts activities in the community with a symphony orchestra, master chorale and performing arts, including theatre and dance. The guitar program is the largest among California community colleges with more than 225 students enrolled in classes.
Grossmont’s 135-acre campus is located on a beautiful mesa with picturesque views in every direction. The campus is laid out with buildings and grounds situated in an academic village setting that surround the college’s Learning Resource Center and a central quad area.
