A Data-Driven Examination of the Impact of Associate and Bachelor’s Degree Programs on the Nation’s Nursing Workforce, March 2011
AACC's new policy brief provides a better understanding of the evidence behind the Institute of Medicine recommendation on the future of RN education and what the most recent federal data demonstrate about the impact associate degree nursing schools have on the nation's nursing workforce.

Results of AACC NAHI Survey (PDF)
According to 420 associate degree nursing programs that responded to the NAHI Survey conducted earlier this year, nursing school enrollments are stunted due to a lack of qualified faculty, clinical, classroom, and lab space, and preceptors.  Survey respondents reported a 16 percent increase in the number of new students admitted to ADN programs between fall 2001 and 2002 with increases seen in all regions and urbanicity settings.

Sustaining Partnerships for Regional Economic Growth: A Compendium of Promising Practices and Tools, 2009
Through a two year grant from MetLife Foundation, the American Association of Community Colleges Center for Workforce and Economic Development (the Center) and the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE) created a compendium of promising practices and tools. This publication represented a refinement of case studies, which can be used as demonstrative models, as well as some effective tools and resources.
