Administered by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Office of Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service and coordinated by the AACC Center for Workforce and Economic Development (the Center), the Crew Member Self Defense Training (CMSDT) program is available to all actively employed or temporarily furloughed crew members from U.S. commercial and cargo air carriers. The program is delivered at more than twenty sites nation-wide, both at community college and sponsored airline training facility locations throughout the country.
CMSDT is delivered in two parts. First, the participating crew member is provided a self-paced, interactive DVD and student manual designed to familiarize them with self defense concepts and techniques. After completing the review, the crew member attends a one-day "hands-on" training program conducted at participating community colleges around the country. CMSDT, provided at no cost to qualified crew members, may be repeated as often as they would like.
