Job Bank Company Profiles: College of the Mainland

College of the Mainland

Company Description

Are you considering beginning or resuming enrollment in higher education? Then I encourage you to join the approximately 4,000 credit and 10,000 continuing education students who are already pursuing degree and career-related education here. On our web site you will see the statement: "Secure your future, live your dream." That is not a mere slogan; that is what students accomplish here. If you are not certain of your dream, this is a great place to broaden your horizon, to discover your potential, and to define your dream.

Why choose College of the Mainland? One reason might be that more than two-thirds of the jobs being created require post-secondary education provided by a community college like College of the Mainland. Another might be the fact that our tuition is much less than that of a university; yet, credits in our Associate in Arts core transfer to all public Texas universities. Another reason might be the success of our graduates as they move to universities for a bachelor's degree or as they enter their profession in one of many specialties in health care and in business and industry. Recent local and national news stories have highlighted the fact that graduates of our Process Technology program are highly valued and highly paid in the petroleum industry, for example.

While these are all good reasons to enroll at College of the Mainland, the most important reasons are the outstanding faculty and staff and the trustees and administrators who are committed to excellence and to student success. We are committed to providing access to all students, recent high school grads or adults, because higher education is the key to a successful and fulfilling life. We provide academic advancement to the academically-gifted students to prepare them better for their educational and career goals, but we are also committed to helping the underprepared students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a degree or certificate program successfully. Our highly qualified faculty and staff are here because they are committed to these goals and because they value the principles of respect, trust, diversity and innovation which are among the key values of College of the Mainland.

Congratulations because this is a great place to begin your higher education and pursuit of a brighter future.
