PORTLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE
The Board of Directors of Portland Community College (PCC) seeks nominations and applications for the position of President, with a starting date of July 1, 2013.
Portland Community College (PCC) is the largest institution of post-secondary education in Oregon, serving more than 95,000 students. The college district is located in Northwest Oregon, and offers classes through four campuses and three workforce training centers, and at approximately 200 other locations throughout the district. A growing distance learning program enrolls more than 23,500 students annually.

Candidates should have a pattern of progressively responsible educational and institutional leadership and accomplishment. Candidates should also be able to articulate an understanding of, and commitment to, the educational philosophy of the comprehensive community college.
A master's degree is required; an earned doctorate from an accredited institution is preferred. Individuals with outstanding comparable background and experience may be considered.

THE COLLEGE PRESIDENT
The college president is the chief executive officer of the college and is responsible to a seven member Board of Directors for the operation of the district. The president provides leadership, vision, and direction to the four campus presidents and is expected to possess exceptional administrative, communications and political skills. The successful candidate will be expected to be an effective team builder, a proven educational and institutional leader with experience working with a board. The ideal candidate will lead this complex organization through its next phase of expansion, carefully balancing its functions and program mix and reflecting the needs of an increasingly diverse population.
The Portland Community College District offers a comprehensive compensation and benefit package including medical, dental, vision, sick leave, vacation and opportunities for professional development. Salary and other benefits depend upon experience and qualifications, are highly competitive and are negotiated with the Board of Directors.
