Dean of Instruction
Bergen Community College, the largest community college in New Jersey, serving a diverse student body on its suburban campus, has a leadership opportunity for a Dean of Instruction. As the Dean of Instruction, the successful applicant performs a wide variety of administrative duties in relation to the Colleges entire instructional activities, specifically provides administrative oversight of college-wide professional development for full-time and adjunct faculty. Further the successful candidate must be able to manage and administer the overall organization of multiple programs/offices within the college, including the honors program, distance learning, college and high school partnerships and the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning. This position reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree; five years full-time experience in higher education, preferably at a community college, including administrative responsibilities; demonstrated leadership and communication skills and computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate; a strong background in professional development at the college-level; experience working in one or more of the areas mentioned above; experience in a collective bargaining environment.
