The Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin Colleges invites nominations, expressions of interest, and applications for the position of Campus Executive Officer and Dean at UW-Barron County, one of its 13 campuses, located in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. The mission of the UW Colleges is to make high-quality education accessible and affordable to all. Each campus provides the first two years of a liberal arts education and a transfer curriculum for the baccalaureate degree or professional studies, as well as a general education Associate of Arts and Science degree. Some campuses, including UW-Barron County, also offer a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree completion program. All campuses have guaranteed transfer and collaborative degree programs with University of Wisconsin System baccalaureate degree-granting institutions. With state-of-the-art science laboratories, high-tech classrooms, and renovated student facilities on an attractive 110-acre campus, UW-Barron County offers its over 600 for-credit and 1,500 non-credit students a strong academic program, a student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1, and a rich array of campus activities. The City of Rice Lake, with a population of approximately 8,400, is located in the beautiful northwest region of Wisconsin, which is easily accessible to Eau Claire, Wisconsin (60 miles to the south), and Minneapolis/St. Paul (100 miles to the southwest).
The UW Colleges seeks an effective higher education leader with demonstrated success in building strong partnerships with both internal and external constituencies. The successful candidate will be a visionary capable of developing and implementing strategic, effective responses to current challenges impacting publicly supported colleges. In addition to being an accomplished educator with appropriate graduate degrees, the new CEO/Dean will possess executive management skills to direct and oversee all campus operations. A high degree of participation in community development and related activities is expected.
