Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities required by this position include the following:

•Advance student learning through effective, dedicated, and exemplary instruction according to approved course outlines for various courses in the Business Department.
•Assignment may include a laboratory or center environment, where faculty members provide applied, project-based instruction in a hands-on environment. 
•Maintain knowledge of and ability to integrate computer technology in the classroom and ability to offer curriculum and instruction through distance education delivery modes as appropriate. 
•Assess and report student learning and program outcomes.
•Participate in the development and revision of programs and course curriculum.
•Participate actively in district, college, division, and department committees.
•Engage in appropriate professional development activities.
•Develop and maintain communications with representatives of the business community.
•Maintain current knowledge in business and business education for effective teaching.
•Develop a network of local and regional the area business community; including developing opportunities for obtaining student internships and job through the building of advisory groups and meeting with relevant professional organizations outside the college. 
•Assist with the selection, development, and assessment of adjunct faculty. 
•Engage local and regional businesses, government agencies, and other sources of funding to enhance the financial resources of the Entrepreneurship Program.
•Maintain professional conduct and ethics.
•Participate in general faculty functions related to educational programs, in-service programs, college governance, and professional development.
•Teaching assignments may include evening and weekend hours.
•Assignment may include a laboratory or center environment, where faculty members provide applied, project-based instruction in a hands-on environment. 
•Perform other duties as contractually required.

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Master’s degree (or higher) in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing, or business education from an accredited college or university; OR 
2. Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND a Master’s degree in economics, personnel management, public administration, or JD or LL.B. degree from an accredited college or university; OR 
3. Bachelor’s degree in economics with a business emphasis AND Master’s degree in personnel management, public administration, or JD or LL.B. degree OR 
4. Valid California Community College instructor credential appropriate to the subject per Education Code 87355 (issued prior to July 1, 1990); OR 
5. A combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of items 1, 2, or 3 above (Applicants applying on the basis of equivalency must submit the Supplemental Application for Equivalency Determination form in addition to all other required materials).

Experience Required:
The successful candidate must meet all of the following criteria:
•Successful teaching experience of a minimum of two (2) years full-time or part-time equivalent, for example, 20 three-unit courses at the community college or university level, in face-to-face classroom instruction, a significant portion of which includes the use of instructional technology for online and blended teaching and learning; AND
•A significant portion of teaching experience in the discipline of business, specifically entrepreneurship or small business development; AND
•Advanced computer skills, literacy, and experience in using learning management systems, such as Blackboard, Moodle, Angel, Design2Learn, etc., to deliver instruction online and through blended teaching and learning; AND
•Experience in the curriculum development of lower-division courses in business; AND
•Evidence of well-developed teaching skills and classroom management abilities; AND
•Familiarity and practice in establishing and assessing student learning outcomes and policies involving program review; AND
•Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students; AND
•High level of interaction with the business community and college academic program development and management; AND
•Ability to create and manage business incubators in partnership with universities or community colleges for academic entrepreneurship programs.

Desired Qualifications:
Preference will be given to those candidates demonstrating a high level of professional expertise on the basis of:

•Experience in teaching college-level courses integrating an entrepreneurial mindset and business concepts.
•Experience in creating and managing business incubators in partnership with universities or community colleges for academic entrepreneurship programs.
•Completion of significant course work from an accredited institution in the discipline of teaching and learning.
•Experience in building new academic programs, including curriculum development that meets the changing needs of employers and the business world.
•Background in building courses that incorporate changing technologies.
•Strong interpersonal communication skills.
•Ability to teach complex subjects in an enjoyable, engaging format that is understandable to students and encourages student success.
•Experience in team teaching.
•A strong background in the current issues and concerns of world of business startups.
•An earned graduate degree in business or business education from an accredited college or university.
