Capella University seeks an entrepreneurial academic leader that is a progressive thinker to serve as the Dean for the School of Public Service Leadership within the College of Professional Studies.
Located in Downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, Capella (www.capella.edu) launched its School of Public Service Leadership in 2009. The mission of the School is to educate public service leaders to most effectively address increasingly complex needs in the public sector. To accomplish this mission, the School provides an educational platform of outcomes-based degree programs and certificates; expert national and international faculty; experienced, global learners; and advanced learning technologies, delivering an academic experience that ensures multidisciplinary connectivity and collaboration.
In addition to leading several strong public leadership programs, the new Dean will be responsible for one of Capella’s key growth platforms – health care. Key to this role is a blend of business thinking and academic/professional experience, credibility, and acumen. At Capella University, the Dean is the Chief Administrative and Academic Officer for the school and is responsible for: 1) developing the overall strategy, 2) directing the internal operations, and 3) overseeing the talent development for the school. This highly cross-functional role is accountable for creating and leading critical growth initiatives, executing strategic vision that assures the school maintains a strong academic presence, and ensuring that faculty provide relevant and high quality learning outcomes that will support learner success.
