Ohio Association of Community Colleges

Location

Columbus, OH

Job Description

The governing board of the Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC) invites nominations and applications for the position of president. As the primary spokesperson for Ohio’s community colleges, the president is charged with developing the academic and educational mission of the organization while representing and promoting the interests of the member institutions in the legislative process. The new president will be expected to assume office in July 2014 or as soon thereafter as feasible. The OACC is a voluntary association of Ohio’s 23 community colleges. The Association was founded in 1993 as a single forum for advocacy, communication, recognition, trustee education and trustee-president cooperation. The OACC is the recognized voice of the community college movement in Ohio. The association’s offices are located in a spacious and modern office suite in downtown Columbus directly adjacent to the state house. It is strongly preferred that the next president holds an advanced degree and has had direct and relevant experience in the community college sector as well as the legislative/governmental relations arena. A full position profile can be viewed by going to www.academic-search.com and clicking on current searches. Nominations and applications will be received until the position is filled but, in order to receive full consideration, candidates are encouraged to submit their materials by March 15, 2014. OACC is being assisted in this search by Academic Search, Inc. Nominators or prospective candidates may direct inquiries or questions to Senior Consultants Dr. Tom Fitch at rtf@academic-search.com or Ms. Jackie Woods at jacqueline.woods@academic-search.com. Application materials should consist of a curriculum vitae, a substantive cover letter addressing desired attributes and qualifications, and a list of five references, none of whom will be contacted without the explicit permission of the candidate. All application materials must be submitted electronically to OACC@academic-search.com. OACC is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
