Fulbright International Education Administrators Seminars
Competition now open! IEA two-week seminars are great professional development opportunities for international education administrators and other senior-level higher education administrators from the United States to create empowering connections with the societal, cultural and higher education systems of other countries. Choose Russia (community college only), or 6 other countries--India, Japan, Korea, Germany, France or the United Kingdom.
2013 Heiskel Award Winners
Pitt Community College (NC) for Internationalizing the Community College category with their International Education Travel Scholarship (IETS) program. Shoreline Community College (WA) received special recognition (along with three universities) for “Internationalizing the Professions” with their Dental Hygiene Education/Smiles Forever program.
2013 Senator Paul Simmon Award Winners
Green River Community College and Lone Star College System are winners of NAFSA’s 2013 Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization. The award recognizes “those institutions making intentional, significant progress to effectively combine elements of [comprehensive internationalization] with results of: expanding the reach of internationalization among students, faculty and staff, fostering collaboration across academic, administrative and student service arenas in the interest of internationalization; expanding student, faculty and academic and support units contributing to internationalization; and assessing and measuring that progress." The award also seeks to highlight innovative and creative approaches.
