AACC's Views on President Obama’s “Ratings” Plan

11/13/2013

Below is a link to some of AACC’s views on the Obama administration’s proposals to “Make College More Affordable,” which were released on August 22, 2013. An abbreviated version of this document was delivered November 13 by AACC Senior VP for Government Relations David Baime at George Mason University, where the administration held one of its four public forums on these high profile proposals.

The comments do not address all of the issues—both positive and negative that are raised by the proposals—but articulate some of the more common views held by community college CEOs. As the discussion over the administration’s proposals continues, this document will be further refined. The administration expects to have its college ratings system in place by the fall of 2015.
