Volunteer Readers Needed for APIASF Scholarship Program

12/1/2010

The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) is seeking volunteers to serve as readers for the APIASF Scholarship Program. Readers assist in the review and evaluation of scholarship applications submitted for the 2011-2012 academic year.

The scholarship review process will take place between the months of February to April 2011. Readers will have access to a secure website to review scholarship applications and provide input. APIASF receives thousands of applications every year. To ensure that there are enough readers to evaluate applications, readers are asked to commit to evaluate a minimum amount of applications. Each application takes approximately 15-20 minutes to review.

New volunteers are required to review a training webinar by the first two weeks of January 2011. The training will cover basic information related to education in the Asian and Pacific Islander American community and provide an overview of the review and selection process.

All readers must have an undergraduate college diploma.

If you are interested in volunteering as a reader for the APIASF Scholarship Program, please complete the new reader form and submit your resume to Patty Limjap, Program Director, at plimjap@apiasf.org as soon as possible. If you are a past reader, please update your information on the past reader form.

For more information, please email Patty LimjapĀ at plimjap@apiasf.org or call 202.747.7235.
